GLIDER
Problem Statement:
The main goal of this project is to make a balsa glider that can fly the furthest. We will use AERY software to design the glider, then handcraft it.
Constraints/Restrictions:
Idea 1:
Idea 2:
Glider 2 has a weight of 33.39 g and a wing chord of 12 cm. It has a wing planform area of 525.00 cm^2. This design gives the glider a stall velocity of 12.80 km/hr and a stall angle of 9.62 degrees. Additionally it has a positive downward stall glide angle of 3.78 degrees. This design was not chosen.

Idea 3:
Glider 3 weighs 33.1 grams with a wing chord of 10 cm. The glider has 412.09 cm^2 plan-form area. Due to its size, the plane has an estimated 12.43 km/hr with a stall angle of 13.34. The stall glide angle a positive downward at 3.70 degrees. The Its relatively easy to build design and high AERY value is why this plane was chosen to be made.
